Q. How tight should I pull on the power unit?
A. The ideal tension is assured by the 6-8" gap in the front (which also assures the simultaneous circumferential compression). You will feel resistance as the T-POD performs its circumferential compression and you can safely adjust to feel without over-tightening.

Q. Should I put this device on all patients suspected of a pelvic injury?

A. Yes, you can use the TPOD on every patient suspected of pelvic injury.

Q. Are there any contraindications for this device?
A. There have been no contraindications found with the T-POD; not using it could jeapordize the outcome and health of patient.

Q. Can you put this device over clothes?
A. Yes, but it is always a good idea to remove clothing for proper patient assessment.

Q. Is the TPOD a one-time use device?
A. Yes. The T-POD should not be re-used for 2 reasons: 1.) It is custom-cut to fit each patient, 2.) blood/body-fluid precautions must be followed.

Q. How long can this device be kept in place?
A. Ideally, not longer than 48 hours. If necessary, the T-POD can stay on longer, but skin integrity must be checked daily.

Q. How do you access the groin for interventional radiology (angiography)?
A. You may cut out a notch to obtain acess without compromising the device.

Q. Can anyone apply the device?
A. Yes, it is safe for any health care provider to apply once sufficient training had been provided.
